Volunteer!

Please remember that Piedmont Rec. is a volunteer organization and our focus is to provide a clean and fun environment for our children to play. PRA kids learn the fundamentals of the game, good sportsmanship and volunteerism in our community. As a member of PRA, you are expected to support these goals. If you see something that needs to be done, feel free to pitch in. Talk with your coaches to find out what needs to be done.

Babe Ruth Baseball

There are three divisions: Prep League: 13 year olds, Babe Ruth League: 14 - 15 year olds Senior Babe Ruth: 16 - 18 year olds.

All players must be a member of PRA. The Spring season runs April 1st to July 1st. The Fall season runs August 15th to October 15th. There are two divisions for each age group: an A division and a B division. Games are played within there own division. This allows for more competitive play and equal playing time.

Select Tournament Teams

PRA Babe Ruth Baseball sponsors a tryout for each age group to participate on a select tournament, or challenge teams. These teams are for the aggressive and talented players that want to extend their playing to weekend tournament play. The schedule of these teams does not conflict with Babe Ruth baseball. These teams are organized by a board that is comprised of the head coaches from each team.

PRA Babe Ruth Baseball controls the formation and organization of the Piedmont Middle School baseball team. The team is operated through the Union County Middle School baseball program. They generally follow the NC High School Federation rules. The team is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders. All players trying out for middle school ball will be responsible for carrying their own personal insurance coverage, both accident and liability. (click here for waiver form)

Sign-ups for the team are the same time as PRA sign-ups. Online Signups will begin January 1st. You can sign up for this online.
To play on the middle school team, you must be a member of PRA and play Babe Ruth baseball. The season runs February 1st to April 1st. (Cost: Family membership $125.00 plus Sports Fee of $135.00.)
